Army values are taught but they are also cultivated. It is an important personal as well as the professional issue. Profession of arms is a revered profession. Salary, perquisites and promotions are taken care of well. This is a service of honor and privileges. The ambience in the army cantonments is good and atmosphere of camaraderie prevails which is the hallmark of army life. This profession is hailed as the calling, not a routine job. Keith E.
